“Being closer to finishing my degree than starting it, I began to feel the creeping anxiety of the question: What comes next? That feeling—something between dread and uncertainty—grew larger over time. But as it expanded, small gaps started to appear. In those spaces, I found flickers of excitement and wonder of what comes next for me. This film lives in those gaps. It exists to offer hope to others standing at a similar crossroads. I chose to portray Jasmine as a graduate of a photography
master’s program because photography is both an accessible
artform and one that translates beautifully to film. Drawing
inspiration from film photography,I wanted the colour palette to
reflect Jasmine’s emotional state—at its most vibrant and warm
when she’s immersed in her creative work, reminiscent of Kodak
Gold 200 or Ultramax 400. At its best, the film should feel
comforting and familiar; at its lowest, isolating and cold.
Ultimately,I want audiences to understand that although the
younger generation is often dismissed as entitled or overly reliant
on instant gratification, we are not weak. We are resilient,
passionate, and deserving of respect and opportunity. “
